Costa Mesa-based restaurant and chef included in first ever MICHELIN Guide California
Costa Mesa, Calif., (June 07, 2019) – Chef Carlos Salgado and hisfamily-inspired Costa Mesa restaurant, Taco María, were awarded a MICHELIN Star in the first ever MICHELIN Guide California on June 3, 2019. Chef Salgado’s Taco María was amongst 90 restaurants in the state to receive a coveted MICHELIN Star and was one of two selected restaurants out of the 34 Orange County cities under consideration.
In order for a restaurant to earn a MICHELIN Star, that indicates that the establishment provides a consistent, high-quality dining experience. Each restaurant recognized in the MICHELIN Guide California was announced on June 3 during a live revelation in Huntington Beachwhich featured an oceanfrontcelebration with a variety of food offerings from chefs including Mourad Lahlou, Melissa Perello, Wolfgang Puck and Michael Cimarusti.
