Shop Fresh & Support Small at the SOCO Farmer’s Market

Saturday mornings are made for relaxing strolls through stalls of fresh fruits and vegetables.  Whether planning your healthy meals for the week or just picking up some treats for later, it feels fun to be outside shopping directly from the growers.

The SoCo Farmer’s Market has an array of local vendors who sell seasonal produce straight from the farm.  Additionally, specialty sellers offer wholesome, small batch prepared foods such as tamales, gumbo, bakery delicacies and Salvadoran pupusas that you can eat as you go or bring home for later.  This week the market welcomes OC Wild Seafood who will be selling fresh caught, never frozen tuna, sea bass, halibut and more.  He will be selling alongside other vendors offering free-range meats, local honey (which is a great treatment for those who suffer allergies from spring blossoms), and free-range eggs.  You can also pick up flowers and other small gift items – it’s a one stop shop!

And for those who like to sleep in a little later on the weekends, the SoCo Farmer’s Market’s hours will work for you.  Open 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, you can do an early shop or get there after lunch.  Parking is ample and don’t forget to pick up a cup of joe either at the market or inside at Portola Coffee.  Start the weekend off right this week.  See you at the Farmer’s Market.
