SOCO + The OC Mix Kick-Starts the New Year!

Introducing SOCO’s Kids Club! 

Calling all creative kiddos of Orange County! SOCO + The OC Mix has an all-new Kids Club launching this month that will bring fun events and interactive programming to the center all year long.  The very first event will be held on Wednesday, January 15 from 10a to 11a, with the fun to continue the third Wednesday of each month.  Every event will offer a live story reading, music + dancing, and a fun craft with January’s event to feature a reading of Tacky the Penguin along with an adorable penguin craft. Roomscapes’ Coffee with a Designer 

Beginning this January, Roomscapes with be hosting monthly “Coffee with a Designer” workshops where attendees will learn the many different facets of the home remodeling process over coffee and light bites with a different theme guiding the event each month. The first workshop will be held on Saturday, January 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will focus on countertops – options, considerations, and what’s new!  For further details and to register, please click here.

A Taste of France Comes to SOCO 

TODAY, November 5 the highly anticipated fourth location of Moulin officially joins the SOCO family! With a commitment to providing an elevated pastry experience, Moulin’s exhibition-style kitchen will show guests what it takes to assemble artisan pastries while also offering Parisian classics including wedding cake, croquembouche, opera, fraisier, and baba au rhum. The new 2,000 sq. ft. pastry lab will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and features a memorizing 17-foot glass pastry case.

The Holidays Have Arrived 

With the holidays right around the corner, SOCO + The OC Mix is excited to announce this year’s Holidays by Design events! Beginning on Saturday, November 30 and running every Saturday through December 21, guests are invited to bring the whole family to enjoy a holiday photo booth from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and along with live music inside The OC Mix from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Chuck Jones Center will also be hosting holiday “Storytime” plus a “Little Elves” craft workshop for your little ones.  An RSVP will be required, so please be sure to stay tuned for updates + additional details.

Honor America’s Heroes 

To thank America’s veterans for their endless service and dedication, SusieCakes is inviting all active, inactive, and military personnel into their bakeries during operating hours on Monday, November 11 to enjoy a delicious complimentary piece of cake with valid Military ID or DD 214.  Non-veterans can show their support by purchasing a regular sized red velvet cupcake where $1 from each cupcake purchased will be donated to VA medical centers in California and Texas.  Mark your calendars and get ready to show your appreciation for the hero in your life this Veteran’s Day!

Say cheese! On Saturday, October 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. bring the whole family to The OC Mix for a festive + complimentary Halloween photo shoot hosted by Alison Bernier Photography with Beijos Events. Bring your little ghouls and goblins to capture some unforgettable Halloween moments and plus enjoy a free Halloween-themed craft table at Milk & Honey Baby.  Digital versions of the photos taken will be available online for purchase the week following the event at alisonbernier.com.

 

 

 

Family Time at Cilek Kid’s Room

Come visit Cilek Kid’s Room at SOCO for it’s final Storytime event of the season this Saturday October 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This week will feature a Stellaluna reading along with a 3-D bat construction craft. Then, families are invited to the SOCO Farmer’s Market to take part in a tasting tour with Market Bucks-tokens that can be spent on anything inside the market. The California Closets mobile pop-up is here at SOCO all week long!  The mobile pop-up is located in the parking lot between C.S. 9th Annual Red Dot Auction

Join the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity on Friday, May 17 for Orange County’s biggest charity art event of the year!  The fundraiser will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will feature a silent auction with art pieces up for bid from over 100 artists from around the world.  This special evening serves to raise money for programs of the Chuck Jones Center, which work to foster innovation, exercise creativity to solve problems and build mental health in students of all ages.  For more information + to purchase tickets, please click here!
