SOCO + The OC Mix Kick-Starts The Holiday Season!

The Holidays Have Arrived 

With the holidays right around the corner, SOCO + The OC Mix is excited to invite you to this year’s Holidays by Design events! Beginning on Saturday, November 30 and running every Saturday through December 21, guests are invited to bring the whole family to enjoy a holiday photo booth from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and along with live music inside The OC Mix from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Chuck Jones Center will also be hosting holiday Storytime with Mrs. Claus featuring a live book reading and craft activity for your little ones.  While Storytime is free, an RSVP is recommended and can be done here.

Small Business Saturday

On Saturday, November 30, American Express will host its annual Small Business Saturday, which encourages customers to support their local stores and shop small. On that day, customers are invited to SOCO + The OC Mix to take part by shopping at the abundance of local businesses throughout The OC Mix.  Guests will also receive complimentary “SOCO + The OC Mix”- themed tote bags to use while searching for the perfect holiday gifts (while supplies last).

November Happenings at Tackle Box! 

On Saturday, November 23 at 9:00 p.m., gather your favorite people and enjoy an exciting evening of music provided by the amazing DJ Colette. Special drink offers will also be available including 50% off margaritas, micheladas and $5 select beers. Now that’s something to be thankful for!

Plus TODAY, November 21, Gunwhale Ales joins Tackle Box for a tap takeover! From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., come try a selection of four Gunwhale Ale beers on tap and also enjoy an exclusive brew that will be paired with a signature dish in collaboration with Chef Brian Huskey.

Holiday Crafts at The SOCO Farmers Market

Gather the kiddos for a special holiday pomander craft at the SOCO Farmers Market! This Saturday, November 23 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., children of all ages are invited to make festive pomanders from cloves and local mandarin oranges. This summer, Designer Camp – the only comprehensive & collaborative design-based summer camp for young creatives ages 11-17 – will host two workshop series at the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity at SOCO + The OC Mix!

Meet Anna-Marie Claassen of Anthology Interiors
If you’ve seen the incredible new spring/summer display windows at SOCO + The OC Mix, you’re looking at the work of Anna-Marie Claassen of Anthology Interiors.  Anna-Marie got her start in design at the tender age of 9 when she received her first dollhouse, and never looked back!  After studying Interior Design at Ivy Tech College, she began working in Orange County’s high-end residential interior design world before launching Anthology Interiors.  Through Anthology, she’s completed an array of projects – from furnishings to heavy remodels to new home builds – all with a focus on colors, patterns & improving quality of life through design.  We think you’ll agree her passion shines through her work!  For more information, visitwww.anthologyinteriors.com

When Mark Anderson created his farmers markets, he used his viewpoint as a tomato farmer in Ventura County. He wanted to create a place to benefit local growers and engage patrons. In 2010, the Costa Mesa market was started to add to the chic, hipster landscape at SOCO. The market, which operates from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, is one of six managed by Anderson in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Anderson wanted to create a community hub.

Granola Babies: SOCO Farmer’s Market homemade Baby Food workshop

Join Granola Babies and the SoCo farmers market on August 1st for a 1 hour DIY workshop! Granola Babies will host guest speaker and nutritionist, Janice, owner of Socal nutrition and wellness who will demonstrate and talk about easy baby food- making, shopping local, and more!
